Minutes of the October 11th, 2006 Meeting

The meeting was called to order by President Vinnie at 7PM. Introductions were as usual.

Minutes of the September were approved as printed.

Old Business

Sunshine committee

Randy and Art are both home and recovering well. Randy is sporting a brand new hip, and Art is recovering from a stroke he had on September 14. Flowers have been sent to each of them from the club.If you know of a club member in the hospital or recovering from an illness, let Frankie know. She will send them a little cheering up.

The Treasurer’s Report-

George will be standing in as treasurer while Art is recovering. Thanks, George for the help and to those of you that also offered/ However, no report available tonight.

Membership-

Tim and Virginia Nelson and Brian and Sheryl Mencke were voted in as our newest members. Congratulations to the four of you and welcome to C de O.

Historian-

Get pictures to Meagan either by email or copies you had printed..

Scholorship.

Website-

The website is up to date except for a few pictures of the Windy Ridge trip, which will be on soon.

NWACC-

NWACC year end party, November 4 at Tacoma Elks Club. Good food and plenty of raffle prizes. If you interested call Meagan or George. Also, available are the registration forms to send in on your own

Sponsorship Committee-

No report.

National Corvette Museum

Raffle tickets for that new Corvette are still $10 per ticket. Next year the plan is to raffle off 2 Corvettes. Museum annual membership dues are $50.00.

Events & Activities-

Upcoming events:

Capital High School needs Vettes for homecoming on10/21. Coupes or roadsters work, as each car will only carry the princess. Email Jon if you are available.

Annual Christmas Party. This gala event is 12/16 at Chamber House restaurant. Happy hour is 5 Pm, no host bar, and buffet dinner is served at 6Pm. Dinner for each paid member is $15 and non member guest is $25. YOU MUST PAY IN ADVANCE THIS YEAR and payment is due no later than 11/28/06. You can pay at the November meeting or mail the checks directly to George Schwartz, at 5905 Thornbury Dr SE, Lacey 98513, payable to C de O. If you have any questions contact Peggy at 491-7432. We will also have the usual gift exchange. Each Person that wants to participate, is to bring a gift. You can mark your gift “boy”, “girl” or “either”. We have spent about $15 or so on each gift in the past. This is great fun and just because you opened the gift doesn’t mean you get to keep it.

VETTE FEST 2007, plan to help and support this NWACC event. JT will be our chair person for this, and will give us each the opportunity to sign up to work.

Bob H. will have information in the future on hosting an open house for our neighboring Corvettes clubs. He is also checking in to a picnic for any and all car clubs.

ACR 2007—pre-run is 3/25/07 and the Rally date is 4/22/07 Mark your calendars.

New Business

Several members ordered radios for communicating while we travel. The word is they work very well.

If you want to order T Shirts or Sweatshirts, we will be placing another order soon.

Duncan has copies of the route he used for the tour to the South Bend parade, if you would like a copy. Also the club received a trophy for our participation in the event. On 10/2 we hosted an autocross event. 38 cars attended.

If you want C de O vinyl die cuts, they run $15 per pair. Order and pay at the November meeting. Contact George if you have questions.
